modo 401でSketchUp 7のColladaファイルを使う

modoでSketchUp 7のColladaファイルを使う為のメモ。

バージョンはmodo 401 SketchUp 7.1。

modo 401からSketchUpインポーターがなくなった。
Colladaプラグイン (http://collada.org/mediawiki/index.php/Modo_401)を使うようだけどサイズや向きが合わない。

まずサイズだけど、これはmodoに限らず他のアプリでも同じようになるんじゃないかな。
SketchUpで書き出したColladaファイルには

<unit meter="0.0254" name="inch" />

なんてタグがある。
これはたぶん「このファイル中にある数値はインチで扱いますよ」という意味だろう。

1インチ = 0.0254メートル

ちなみにこれはSketchUp側でどう設定しても変えられなかった。内部で扱う数値単位がインチなんだろう。
大抵のアプリはメートル法決めうちで読み込むらしく、またこのタグも無視されるのでおかしなサイズになってしまう。
とにかく、サイズを合わせるにはロケーターかなんかかまして、サイズを2.54%にすれば寸法は揃うみたい。ただし、OpenGL表示に問題があるのかメッシュが暗くなり見づらくなる。レンダリングには影響ないようだけど。

向きは、SketchUpで書き出すColladaのUpAxisがZ軸なのに対して、modoの基本UpAxisがY軸なのが原因。modoの初期設定でUpAxisをZにするか、もしくはモデルをX軸-90度で回転させればいい。

しかしSketchUp、喰わず嫌いで全然興味なかったんだけど、使ってみたらいいアプリだね。
建築物などの構造向きとはいえ、すごいスピードでモデリングできる。
ただ、普通の（というと御幣があるけど）モデリングツールに慣れてると混乱する場合もあり。
とりあえず、ナビゲーションにマウスの中ボタン使う仕様はなんとかならんのか。

SketchUpで書き出されるColladaのUVの座標値みると、0から1に収まってないばかりか、modoで読み込むとおかしな状態に（すごく巨大？）なってる。
テクスチャも外れる場合があって、UVはちょっと厳しいかなあ。

SketchUpのコンポーネントはmodoへ持ってったらインスタンスになってくれる模様。
ただ、コンポーネント名に日本語を使ってるとmodoで文字化けする。
colladaファイルには日本語名はUTF-8で問題なく書き出されてるので、modo側インポーターの問題かな。

コンポーネントを使ったColladaをmodoで使うには注意が必要な場合がある。
前述したとおり、サイズを揃えるにはかなり縮小しなければならない。
この縮小をポリゴンモードでやると、インスタンス（コンポーネント）の位置がずれてしまうことになる。
ActionCenterに注意しながら縮小すれば大丈夫かもしれないけど試してない。
これに手間がかかるようであれば、コンポーネントはあらかじめ分解してグループにしておいたほうがいいかもしれない。
SketchUpはあくまでドラフト作りに使用しmodoで仕上げる場合に限られるけど。

ちょっと気になるのがポリゴンがバラバラになってること。
modoで読み込んだら頂点をマージすればいいんだけどね。

あと、SketchUpでは表裏揃ってるハズのポリゴンが、ひっくり返ってることがあるな。

追記：　SketchUpで左右反転等したコンポーネントはmodoでサイズ変更や回転されるようになる。ポリゴンが裏返るのはこれが原因のような気がする
